Smooch Island Postal Book Club

After the success of my Reading Glasses Postal Book Club, I brought the idea to another Facebook group I’m part of, called Smooch Island which is a group of McElroy fans.

Here’s how this works, each month, I’ll receive a package with a book, and a journal. The book will have been read by the person sending it to me, and everyone who has read it previously will have journaled their thoughts. My pick, was “Dangerous Girls” by Abigail Haas. You can find the books that I read through this year long journey. If I do a full review, you can find the link here, however, if not, you can always find my thoughts jotted down here. However, this is the place to find the reading list.

October 2017: “A Canticle for Leibowitz” by Walter Miller (unfortunately this was a DNF for me, I just couldn’t get into it. I think it was honestly a bit too Sci Fi for my taste)

November 2017: “The Long Earth” by Terry Prachett (I gave this one a very solid attempt, but unfortunately just couldn’t really get into it. This may be something I come back to in the future.)

December 2017: “Regeneration” by Pat Baker

February 2018: “A Bend in the Road” by Nicholas Sparks

March 2018: “Not My Father’s Son” by Alan Cumming

April 2018: “All the Birds in the Sky” by Charlie Jane Anders

May 2018: “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo

June 2018: “Small Gods” by Terry Prachett

July 2018:  “Kindred” by Octavia Butler

August 2018: “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams

September 2018: “The Storied Life of AJ Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin
